Abstract
By its decision 23/CP.7, the Conference of the Parties (COP), at its seventh session, requested the SBSTA, at its seventeenth session, to consider options for the treatment of confidential data during the review activities under Article 8 of the Kyoto Protocol, with a view to recommending to the COP, at its eighth session, a decision on this matter for adoption by the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol at its first session after the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol (FCCC/CP/2001/13/Add.3). By the same decision, the COP invited Parties to submit their views on this issue, by 1 August 2002. The secretariat has received two submissions. In accordance with the procedure for miscellaneous documents, these submissions are attached and reproduced in the language in which they were received and without editing
