Abstract
By its decision 10/CP.2, para. 1 (b), the Conference of the Parties requested the secretariat to make available to the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), at each of its sessions, details of the financial support made available by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), as an entity entrusted with the operation of the financial mechanism, to Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (non-Annex I Parties) for the preparation of their initial communications. This information is to cover projects proposed by each Party, the funding decisions and the date and amount of funds made available to the Party (FCCC/CP/1996/15/Add.1).The SBI, at its tenth session, asked the secretariat to request the GEF Secretariat to make available the dates of disbursement of funds for enabling activity projects for the preparation of initial national communication by non-Annex I Parties (FCCC/SBI/1999/8, para. 32 (b)). The attached table of information obtained from the GEF Secretariat shows the dates of disbursement. Parties may wish to note that according to the GEF Secretariat, projects described in the attached table are divided into those approved under the expedited procedures, and full projects approved under standard procedures. The remaining projects are those covering limited components of first national communications from non-Annex I Parties
