Addendum. Item 7 of the provisional agenda. This document is available in English only
Abstract
The secretariat has designed a database to organize information on mitigation and adaptation technologies received from Parties, intergovernmental organizations, and other sources. It contains technical reports, journal articles, books, and reports on conferences and workshops. Information is also available on institutions, information centres, databases, and web sites. This addendum has been arranged according to the contributing entity, namely, contributing Parties, specialized agencies and other bodies of the United Nations system, intergovernmental organizations, and other institutions. (Information on official institutions that has been obtained from a source other than a contribution from a Party, is currently included in "other institutions".) The structure includes the report title, organization, abstract, types of technologies, intended users, World Wide Web address access, and price. The database is still in a preliminary stage and can be expanded, modified, and adapted to specific needs. In the future, records could be sorted by different categories and searches could be undertaken. The secretariat plans to revise its technology database, improve the presentation and provide an updated compilation (see also FCCC/SBI/1996/4)
