Abstract
This report provides information on the intersessional consultations on registries convened by the Chair of the SBSTA and chaired by Mr. Murray Ward (New Zealand). In particular, this report contains the outcomes of consultations held on 19-20 October 2002 in New Delhi, India, for consideration by the SBSTA at its seventeenth session. These include: (a) Draft technical standards, in the form of general design requirements, for data exchange between national registries, the CDM registry and the transaction log (referred to below as "registry systems"), as contained in the annex to this report; (b) Possible modalities for continuing work on this issue to elaborate the detailed functional and technical specifications of the technical standards, on the basis of the general design requirements; (c) An informal paper of 13 June 2002 by the Chair of the consultations which participants wished to be forwarded as a starting point for any further work to elaborate the functional and technical specifications
