Practicum in Computer Basics and Programming Language


This practicum consists of two parts: computer basics and programming language. Students learn basic knowledge and skill in preparing for the coming research activity during the master course. The expected students include those who do not have experience in Linux system and programming. In the "computer basics" part, students learn how to use Linux system, e-mail, printer, Tex, network, security, and installation of the Linux. In the "programming language" part, stundets learn how to program in Fortran 90 through lectures and exercises. One Linux PC is assigned to each student, and 2-3 faculty members and 2-3 TAs assist the students' learing. Instructions are given in Japanese.
