Abstract
The Conference of the Parties (COP), by its decision 8/CP.5, requested the secretariat to facilitate the work of the Consultative Group of Experts on National Communications from Parties Not Included in Annex I to the Convention (CGE), inter alia, by coordinating its meetings and compiling reports on its meetings and regional workshops for consideration by the
subsidiary bodies (FCCC/CP/1999/6/Add.1). The secretariat coordinated and facilitated the organization and the preparation of the report of the second meeting of the Consultative Group of Experts with the objective of considering and discussing experiences, issues and/or constraints and lessons learnt, with a view to improving the preparation of national communications. The report under the cover of this note is the written version of the oral report delivered by the Chairman of the CGE, Dr. Ayite-lo Ajavon (Togo) to the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) at its thirteenth session on the outcome of the second meeting of the Group, held in the offices of the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and Environment,
The Hague, the Netherlands on 9 and 10 November 2000. Eleven CGE members representing Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean regions, six members from Annex I Parties and three members from international organizations, attended the second meeting
